Reporting to the Design Studio Manager, the primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the vehicle interior and exterior styling continues to be developed and matured from a technical and creative design perspective. You will be supporting this world leading supercar brand to deliver projects in a professional, cost effective and timely manner.

Role responsibilities:

  • Control styling surface data by means of registering and issuing to engineering using company process, then  communicate to the project team members so that the engineering design is aligned to the styling.
  • Record and manage the styling design – ‘WIP model’ surface development feasibility status by using ‘Exterior & Interior Studio surface release plan’ documents to maintain a theme/model specific (Red, Amber, Green) Studio Engineering feasibility status tracker so that issues are recorded, communicated, and managed, obtain approval from the engineering and vehicle architect so to ensure the appropriate level(s) of feasibility are being achieved.
  • Raise necessary company documents to obtain approval signatures so that the styling data is formally released within the company once the data is aligned with the relevant engineering groups.
  • Work as a window person to communicate and represent any issues between styling team, engineering groups such as aerodynamics and vehicle architect, in some cases with the suppliers on styling matters.
  • Have full understanding of components which are classed as styling responsible.
  • Initiate and conduct meetings to support the activities as may be required.
  • Provide high quality and imaginative technical solutions to meet Styling team requirements, under the guidance of a styling team when necessary.
  • Contribute to and support activities that the Styling team require to drive – such as colour and material finish of the vehicle.
  • With other members of the Styling team, support activities such as internal and external audits.
  • Liaise with the engineering, vehicle architect and Project Management to ensure technical targets, program timings and budgetary requirements are met.
  • Schedule own activities to provide styling deliverables that meet required specifications within timescales and budgets.
  • Present styling design status internally to the company – project manager and gateway reviews.
  • Contribute to complete effective styling plans and schedules, including planning own activities.
  • Identify and highlight any areas for continuous improvement.
